Prerequisite: Approved reading placement score, or equivalent. This course is a survey of the visual arts, exploring the nature, language and history of art, in relation to cultural, humanistic, and aesthetic values. Lectures are reinforced by written assignments, presentations, gallery visits, critical evaluations of art, and introductory art experiences. This course is acceptable for Humanities credit in the area of Fine Arts. It is intended for general studies of non-majors. Three lecture hours per week. (F2 900)
